Essential Training to Develop Skills
The CCNSG Safety Passport Programme provides essential training to all site personnel to ensure that they have a basic understanding and knowledge of health and safety.
The CCNSG Safety Passport Training Programme is monitored and controlled by a national steering group known as the Client/Contractor National Safety Group (CCNSG) who are there to ensure that standards are being maintained and that the content of the training programme continues to meet current safety legislation and current safety practices.
Purpose of the CCNSG programme
The main purpose of the CCNSG Safety Passport Training Programme is to ensure that all site personnel and individuals going on-site have a basic knowledge of health and safety, after appropriate site induction, to work on-site more safely with lower risk to themselves and others.
After successfully completing a two-day training course individuals will be awarded a ‘Safety Passport’ which is then valid for three years.
Who should follow the programme?
The training programme is aimed at all site personnel. There is an additional day for Supervisors, outlining the key role that Supervisors have in securing health and safety in the workplace.

The two-day CCNSG Safety Passport training programme covers four basic modules:
- Safe Behaviour at Work
- Safe Place of Work
- Safe Systems of Work
- Safety Problems and Safe Solutions
