  Questions about training courses
Are all of your training courses recognized by the health & safety executive for the workplace?
Yes, we offer recognized first aid, health & safety, site safety, food hygiene and environmental training courses.
Are all of your instructors approved / accredited to teach the courses?
Yes, we only use approved and accredited instructors to conduct training courses. Our providers, instructors and training centres are all monitored by at least one of the following industry standard bodies (depending which course it is) : HSE, CIEH, IOSH, RIPH, RSPH, NEBOSH, CITB or ECITB.
What training facilities do you use?
We use many different types of training facilities right across the United Kingdom including conference centres, training centres, hotels and function rooms. In the case of in house training we can offer training at the venue of your choice, this includes your own premises if you prefer.
I have never attended a health & safety training course before. Which course do you recommend I attend?
We recommend that you start by attending a Level 2 training course such as the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace or you could attend the IOSH Working Safely course. If your role in the workplace is more supervisory or managerial then you could consider attending a Level 3 or above course such as the CIEH Intermediate Certificate in Supervising Health & Safety or for the more experienced individual the CIEH Advanced Certificate In Health & Safety, IOSH Managing Safely or the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety course.
I work on site. What safety based courses do you offer?
Some examples of courses that we currently offer aimed specifically at site workers and the construction industry are:

Who issues my certificate after I have attended a training course?
Provided you successfully complete your training course, your certificate(s) will be forwarded from Training Courses Direct offices to your offices or home at a later date.
How long will it take for my certificate to arrive?
For non-examined courses your certificate will arrive at your premises approximately two weeks after successful completion of the course. If you have attended a training course accredited by the CIEH, IEMA, CITB, ECITB you can expect your certificate to take up to eight weeks to arrive. However some examining bodies such as IOSH and NEBOSH can take up to 14 weeks.
If you need to get on site urgently before your certificate arrives we can provide a letter from the course provider as proof of you passing the course. This is acceptable to allow you on to site.
Please note: certificates are ‘only’ issued after payment has been made in full.
Why do the prices of the same course differ?
Different training course providers charge different prices, this is usually due to the location and the venue of the course. Regardless of price all of the courses follow the same course guidelines and if passed carry the same qualification.
I am looking for a training course but can't find it on your web site, can you find one for me?
We offer a bespoke training course searching service, this means if you can't find the course that suits you in the location that you prefer we will contact all of our providers for you to see if they have the course available for you.

  Booking your training course
How do I book a course with Training Courses Direct?
You can book your training course via this web site or by calling our office FREE on: 0800 0213 336. When you place your booking via this web site our system automatically reserves you a place on the training course of your choice. We then contact you the same day (if you book before 3pm) or the next business day to speak with you regarding payment. See 'How do I pay for my training course' (below).
I am booking the training course for someone else, so who's name do I register it in?
The majority of our courses are booked by companies for employees. In this case please register the company name and contact details with your name and telephone details as the primary contact. You will be asked for the delegates name at the end of the booking. If you are not sure about this just register everything in your own name and we will add the delegates details for you when we contact you.
 
Paying for your training course

How do I pay for my training course?
For your convenience we offer you several ways to pay for your training course. You can pay by Personal Cheque, Business Cheque, BACS (Fund Transfer) CHAPS (Fund Transfer) or by Credit/Debit card
Please Note: We charge a 2% handling fee for all card transactions. This is a standard fee which is charged by our bank.

We always recommend paying by BACS simply because there is no extra charge for you. To pay by BACS or CHAPS please contact us for our Bank details.

When do I have to pay for my training course?

Paying By Card
If you elect to pay by Card you will enter your payment details into the web site when you place your order. This payment is authorised but not taken at the point of placing your order. We take payment once your place is booked and confirmed on the course.

Paying By BACS or Cheque

If you elect to pay by BACS or Cheque we will contact you to request payment when we have confirmed your place on the course. This is usually within a couple of hours of your booking.

If there is a problem with getting payment to us immediately please contact us.
Please Note: Your place is NOT confirmed as a definite booking until cleared funds are received.

Do you offer credit or government funding?
Unfortunately we DO NOT offer credit for training courses, we don't deal directly with the government for funding training courses but if they offer you a training grant and they can pay us directly we may be able to deal with them on your behalf. Contact us to find out more.
